Cá Mbǐy Vǖy

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy (/kɑ́/ /mbɪ̌iː/ [significant] [compassion]) is a subtropical Large Town located in the Ǐērḗē Region of the Confederation of Goblin Tribes.

The name Cá Mbǐy Vǖy is derived from the Goblin language, as Cá Mbǐy Vǖy was founded by Cetrÿnequg Perÿdotqug Wrath Beetles Advanced Giant Scorpions, who was culturaly Goblin.

Climate

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a yearly average temperature of 14°C (57°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 2°C (35°F). Cá Mbǐy Vǖy receives an average of 227 cm/y (89 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Cá Mbǐy Vǖy covers an area of nearly 7 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 2890 m (9481 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy was founded durring the late 15th century in fall of the year 1380, by Cetrÿnequg Perÿdotqug Wrath Beetles Advanced Giant Scorpions. The establishment of Cá Mbǐy Vǖy suffered from many setbacks, delays, and obsticles, most notably a group of Cá Mbǐy Vǖy which required millitary assistance exterminate before the community could finish being built.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Cá Mbǐy Vǖy is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy is buildings folow an organic layout of narrow cobblestone streets whihch gives the town a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The town sits comfortably behind a palisade wall complete with a timber gatehouse and battlments. The town's timber-based walls have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

A look around Cá Mbǐy Vǖy seems to be home to a quite vibrant and boisterous community. Everywhere one looks they can see people going out their daily business with a smile and a spring in their step. Children play loudly in the streets, causing untold havoc as youth are want and allowed to do. On second glance, that chaos continues into adulthood. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Yet there are small elements here and there which show the underlying structure of the community. It’s just so complex, organic, and flowing one can only understand what is a piece of the puzzle, but not what its neighbors are.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Cá Mbǐy Vǖy. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Cá Mbǐy Vǖy's parks.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Cá Mbǐy Vǖy.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Cá Mbǐy Vǖy's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large Town. Cá Mbǐy Vǖy's grid is powered by a direct leyline tap.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Cá Mbǐy Vǖy's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

There’s more than one leader in Cá Mbǐy Vǖy, but at least some of them are at each other’s throats. It might be a conflict between formal leadership and informal authorities, or it could be a struggle among civil officials. Their interests might diverge sharply, or it could be a personal grudge that’s boiled over. Outside threats and internal problems are likely being ignored until the power struggle is resolved.

Cá Mbǐy Vǖy's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. Decorative features were seen as largely unnecessary as the sheer beauty of the structure itself was often close to art. However, many buildings with large ceiling spaces had their ceilings decorated with elaborate paintings, simply because the large flat spaces could feel wasted.

Rather than repairing them correctly, a series of new roads was laid atop the old, leading to the streets of modern Cá Mbǐy Vǖy suffering from potholes, cracking, and even sinkholes. The locals often repair the road by putting down wooden decking.
